Who are you really?

What makes you who you are? Psychologists like to talk about our behavior tendencies or the traits that define us. But psychology also studies the moments when we go beyond our main traits, whether it’s because society demands it or because we demand it of ourselves. In other words, our personality is more malleable than we imagine.

In the video below, from the YouTube channel ‘TED,’ a channel that features the best TED Conference talks by the world’s greatest thinkers, we see Brian Little, a PhD psychologist and expert in human personality, talking about what makes us who we are.

It is essential to dedicate energy and resources to creative efforts with a specific goal in mind, even if it takes us away from other components of our well-being, such as rest and leisure.

But as long as it generates manageable, not excessive stress. This means that it is possible to move between projects during our lifetime. And it is precisely this ability to create projects flexibly, to engage in various activities that makes us adaptable.

The less we know who we are, the harder it is to create with authenticity. So exposing ourselves to different experiences is a great way for self-discovery and self-development.

Some consider fear as a natural bodily response, while others say it’s a limiting belief. The correct answer is definitely the first one.
There are moments when this fear reaches levels where our only option is to feel anguish. And embracing this feeling is the first step to get through it.
The fear of making mistakes and perfectionism go hand in hand and can be significant enemies of your mental health.
Our emotions are automatic reactions to the experiences we go through, and what defines what we feel in a given situation is our own life history.
